Just because someone has a truckload of credentials to his or her name does not guarantee results. And just because this trainer has a six-pack to die for and perhaps a pair of bulging biceps does not mean that his or her methods and technique are right for you. Personal training can be expensive, but it is an investment in your health. It will also enhance your overall quality of life. You owe it to yourself to make sure that your hard-earned cash will go towards your personal goals and nowhere else.
Determine Your Fitness Goals
Make sure to write down what your goals may be. These goals may range anywhere from becoming stronger to losing the last stubborn ten pounds. Different trainers come from different backgrounds, so their specialties will also be different. So before you even start looking for a trainer, it is smart to determine what exactly you want from them. A trainer with an extensive background in weight loss may not always be the same trainer you would turn to if you were looking to increase agility. Also, do not limit your goals to the physical plane. Consider how you want to feel emotionally about your body after starting a training regime.
